Privacy policy

Last updated 13 June 2026. Written to be read, not skimmed: it says exactly what we collect and what we do with it.

1. Who we are

Hiddle (“we”, “our”, “us”) is a digital agency based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, providing website development, software development and digital marketing services. This policy covers the website at hiddle.org.

2. What we collect

We only collect personal information you choose to give us through the forms on this site:

  • Contact form: your name or company name, phone number, email address (optional) and your message.
  • Get Started form: the service you need, a project description, timeline, budget range, existing website (optional), your name, company (optional), phone number and email address (optional).
  • Consultation booking: your name or company, phone number, email (optional), the service of interest, preferred date, time slot and meeting mode, meeting location (optional) and a short description.
  • Newsletter: your email address.

Each form asks for your consent before it is sent. We do not collect payment details through this website.

3. Why we collect it

We use this information only to respond to your enquiry, communicate with you about your request, prepare proposals and quotations, schedule and manage consultations, provide the services you ask for, and — if you subscribed — send you an email when a new article is published.

4. Visit counting and consent

When you first visit, a banner asks whether we may count your visit. If you choose Allow, we record the page you viewed, the two-letter country your connection appears to come from, the time of the visit and the fact that you consented. That is the complete list. We do not record your IP address, precise location, device identifiers or anything that identifies you personally. If you choose Decline, nothing is recorded. Aggregated totals (visits per page, per country, per day) are shown only to Hiddle administrators.

5. Cookies

This site sets a small number of cookies, none of them for advertising:

  • hiddle_consent — remembers your Allow/Decline choice so the banner does not reappear (kept for 180 days).
  • hiddle_session — a temporary session cookie used to protect forms against forged submissions; it expires when you close the browser.
  • hiddle_remember — set only for Hiddle staff who sign in to the administration area and choose to stay signed in.

We do not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies on this site.

6. Sharing

We do not sell, rent, trade or share your personal information with third parties outside Hiddle, except where required by applicable law, or where you ask us and authorise us to register a service on your behalf (for example a domain, hosting or advertising account) that requires your details.

7. Retention

Form submissions are kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any project that follows, and then for a reasonable period for our records. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Visit counts are kept as aggregated statistics. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see section 9).

8. Security

Submissions are stored in a database that is only accessible to authorised Hiddle staff who sign in with a password. Connections to the site are encrypted (HTTPS), forms are protected against forgery and automated spam, and staff sign-in is rate-limited against brute-force attempts.

9. Your rights

You can ask us at any time to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any email or by writing to us. To make a request, contact us using the details in section 12; we will respond within a reasonable time and may ask you to confirm your identity.

Our website links to third-party websites and applications, including client websites in our portfolio and messaging services such as WhatsApp. These operate independently and have their own privacy policies and terms of use. Hiddle does not control and is not responsible for their practices, content or security, and we encourage you to review their policies before providing any personal information.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Continued use of the website after an update means you accept the revised policy.

12. Contact
